Here's an introduction to Reno in 2011 bid parties at Anticipation from our bid chair, Patty Wells:

Reno will be hosting parties in conference room 532 in the Delta Centre Ville (the party hotel) beginning with an opening party on Wednesday night. Our parties will all start at 9pm. We invite you to all our parties, but we have a special treat on Wednesday night to make sure you know about.

The conference room doesn't have any bedrooms attached, but we've arranged with the consuite (thank you Anticipation staff, you have been very kind to us) to use one of their overflow rooms for special presentations as we did in Denver with Nick Kanas. On Wednesday night, we offer a presentation next door in conference room 530. It will start in the 9:30 range, as we like our guests to get a good dinner beforehand (and I quote as how could I be more elegant than these two writers):

"Hugo Award winner David Levine and Nebula Award winner Ellen Klages will convince you that Reno is the place to be in 2011.

For a contribution to the cause, you can give us a suggestion, and David and I will begin a scene, tell a story, etc.

Another contribution, another suggestion, and we will continue in the new manner.

If an audience member laughs so hard that beer comes out their nose, or they pee their pants, another contribution must be made.

If an audience member attempts to flummox one of us and fails, or tries to make one of use laugh to the point of fluid release and fails -- a contribution.

(If they succeed, they get their $$ back, and we have a small break to change clothes....)"

Back to Patty, who will note the cause is the beginning of a fund to help really broke fans attend Worldcon. We have no real details yet on this project, except to realize that it is something we would like to do, want to start a fund, and that nothing can be kicked off better than by Ellen Klages and David Levine.

Geri Sullivan and TR Renner have fabulous parties in hand (although I failed to mention the whole peeing pants thing to them for some reason or another). Come and join the Reno in 2011 bid committee for intense merriment in Montreal.
